Work With the Sky: Week of August 17 – 23
Momentum meets resistance.
We are between eclipses this week, and it can feel disorienting. Chapters are opening and others are closing. Some of us feel a strong pull towards significant change before we fully know what comes next.
Two things to consider.
- A drop in enthusiasm isn’t necessarily an indication that you’re on the wrong path. Learn to tell temporary exhaustion apart from real misalignment.
- This is a good week to notice who you could work with rather than assuming you have to create every opportunity alone.
Two things to ask yourself.
- Where am I pressuring myself to initiate action before I actually have enough clarity to move forward?
- What is required now to bring a partnership back into balance? Have healthy boundaries turned into restrictive rules?
One thing to try.
- The frustration is real this week. Avoid acting on assumptions, and verify facts first. Pause before pressing send.
While much of the energy in the sky right now is calling us towards bold new paths, Mars squares Neptune at the start of this week. As a result, we may find our energy hard to sustain. The path towards our goals can be clouded by fog right now.
Fortunately, Monday also gives us some support. Mercury trines Saturn. This favors serious thinking and mature conversations.
Also on Monday, Venus sextiles Jupiter. Collaboration can lead to expansion. Social connections and referrals can open doors. This is a good time to collab and notice where another person may help your work reach further than it could on its own.
August 19 brings the first quarter Moon. This is where momentum meets resistance in the monthly lunar cycle. Something you set in motion at the solar eclipse now calls for further reflection. You can slow down for a deeper dive.
On August 21, Venus opposes Saturn. This can bring a more serious look at a business relationship. You may have to ask whether keeping something harmonious is actually serving you, or clearer boundaries are needed.
As the week comes to an end, the Sun moves into Virgo on August 22. For the next month, there is an underlying theme of refinement and organization. This is an excellent month for tightening systems and cleaning up operations. Pay attention to the details that make the dream a reality. Practical planning is one of Virgo’s strengths. And when we’re in Virgo season, we can all take a hint from that energy.
As we sit between the solar eclipse and the lunar eclipse, know that everything does not need to be decided this week. Some things are still leaving, as others are only beginning to take shape. Let low energy or variable enthusiasm be OK for a time.
