How to Know What People Will Buy Before They Do

Something shifted over the past year, and you probably felt it before you truly understood it.

Everyone started talking about Substack.

Your inbox filled with people selling a class on how to grow a newsletter. Your feed filled with creators announcing they were done with Instagram, done with the algorithm, moving to the written word and the direct subscriber. Someone you know swore that email is the new frontier, and that owning your audience is the only thing that matters now.

It built fast. It spread everywhere. And the timing of it, when it broke through and why, is the part nobody stops to question.

I want to tell you why it happened when it happened. Not the business version you have heard a hundred times. The version underneath it.

Because here is the idea I build my entire practice on, and it is the reason this newsletter exists.

Let me say that plainly, because it is the most useful thing I can hand an entrepreneur. The planets, and the signs they are moving through, are a live read on where human attention is pooling right now. What people will reach for. What will sell. What will feel urgent and obvious and everywhere, six months before it feels that way to everyone else. That information is not hiding in a trend report. It is in the sky, and it has been the whole time.

And before you dismiss the planets, know this is neither new nor fringe. A sitting U.S. president’s schedule was quietly guided by an astrologer for years. A century ago, one of the most in-demand astrologers in America ran her practice out of Carnegie Hall, with financiers and public figures among her clients. Reputable astrologers keep their client lists private, the way any trusted advisor does, so the modern names rarely surface. Make of that what you will. But this has always run closer to the top than people assume.

There is an old line for this. You have heard it. As above, so below. It usually gets said in a dreamy voice and left there, as if it means nothing you can actually use. But read it as a working instruction and it becomes the sharpest tool you own. What moves above moves below. What shifts in the sky shifts in the culture. The pattern up there is the pattern down here, playing out in what people buy and build and believe. That is a forecast, if you know how to read it.

So let me prove it to you on something you already lived through.

The wave you already rode.

For about eight years, a planet called Uranus traveled through the sign of Taurus. You do not need the mechanics to know Uranus by what it does. It is the disruptor. It breaks the old model and forces a new one. It takes the tired, outdated arrangements of power and rebuilds them. It does not reform gently. It ruptures the old way, suddenly, and something new and unexpected breaks through in its place.

Taurus rules the body, and it rules money.

Now think back. What happened to the body over those years? It detonated. Wellness became an industry inside every other industry. Biohacking went from fringe to normal. Everyone suddenly had a protocol, a tracker, a supplement stack, a new theory about food and sleep and the nervous system. The body became a public project, all at once.

And money? Same window, same rupture. Decentralized currency went mainstream. The whole conversation about owning your money outside the bank, holding it yourself, cutting out the institution in the middle, moved from the edges to the center of the culture.

Body and money. Both Taurus. Both blown open by the same disruptor at the same time. That was not a coincidence you happened to witness. That was the sky. And if you had known to read it, you would have seen the shape of both waves before they crested.

Now the disruptor has moved.

Where the current is running now.

Uranus first dipped into Gemini in the summer of 2025. Only a few months, a preview, before it slipped back into Taurus for one last pass. Mark that first taste, because it lines up with the exact stretch when Substack stopped being a niche tool for writers and became the thing everyone could not stop talking about. Then in April 2026, Uranus settled into Gemini for the long haul, where it stays until 2033. Seven more years. We are standing at the very front of it.

Gemini rules communication. The written word and the spoken one. Talking, writing, teaching, the exchange of ideas between people. So take the disruptor, the planet that reinvents, and set it down in the sign of how humans communicate, and you get precisely what you have been watching unfold.

The ground under communication is moving. How we get our words out. How ideas travel. What carries them, and who controls it. All of it, up for a complete overhaul, for years.

And notice the flavor of it. The thing everyone is calling innovative is a newsletter. Email. One of the oldest tools on the internet. That is Uranus at its most precise. It does not always hand you a brand new object. Often it takes the old thing and renovates it, making it new by changing who holds the power inside it. Substack did not invent the newsletter. It handed the newsletter back to the writer.

Which is the real story, and it is the one the course-sellers in your inbox cannot explain, because they are riding the wave instead of reading the tide.

The rebellion underneath the trend.

Look at what actually flipped. On the old platforms, the company owns your audience and rents it back to you through the algorithm. You build the following, they control the reach. On Substack, you own the list. You leave, you take your people with you. The relationship is yours.

That is the rebellion underneath it all.

And there is a freedom in it that goes deeper than logistics, because freedom is what Uranus is really about. You have watched it happen. Creators who built enormous followings, quietly stepping back from the platforms that owned their days, done with the pressure to feed the algorithm something new every single day just to stay visible. What looked like a following was starting to feel like a cage. This shift is offering them the way out. A way to reach people that does not demand a post a day to survive, that hands back the freedom to communicate and sell on their own terms, in their own time, in curious new ways they actually enjoy. That is Uranus in Gemini too. Freedom, in the one place it had quietly gone missing.

Here is where the money actually is.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury. Most people know Mercury as the planet of communication, the quick mind, the messenger. But Mercury was also the god of merchants. The god of trade, of the marketplace, of the deal struck between two people.

So watch what that means. Uranus in Gemini is not only reinventing how we communicate. It is revolutionizing how we sell, and how we connect. The marketplace itself. How you reach a buyer, how you market, how the exchange between a creator and an audience actually happens.

That is the digital income moment you are standing in. Not because Gemini is about income. It is not. It is because the disruptor is remaking the marketplace, and the visible result is people earning directly from their own words, their own list, their own audience, with no company standing in the middle taking the cut.

This is the AI moment too, and that is no accident.

Gemini is not only how we talk. It is how we learn, how we teach, how we take in information and hand it on. And the tool reinventing all of that right now has a name you already know.

Uranus is technology and the future arriving early. Gemini is language, learning, and how ideas move between us. Put them together and you get a machine that reads, writes, teaches, and talks, reshaping how all of us handle information almost overnight. If a year ago you barely touched it and now you can hardly run your business without it, that is not a passing trend. That is Uranus in Gemini, moving at the only speed it knows.

For you, that means the way you get your voice out is being rebuilt. So while Uranus in Gemini reinvents how we communicate and sell, it is also asking how we stay true to ourselves inside all of it.

Use the tools, all of them. Just never let them flatten your voice, your face, your way of seeing. When everyone has the same machine, the one thing it cannot manufacture is you. Your authentic self is the edge no algorithm can copy, and this is the moment it matters most.

And right now, this week, it is catching fire.

This has been building for a while now. But the noise feels louder this week than it did a month ago, and there is a reason. Mars just moved into Gemini and lit the whole thing up. Mars is the accelerant. It brings heat, urgency, the will to move. You are not imagining the spike. The sky turned the burner up.

Do not mistake the spike for the whole story, though. The spike is this week. The shift runs until 2033. Everyone in your inbox is selling a right-now gold rush, get in before it closes. This is not a moment about to pass you by. It is the front edge of a seven-year restructuring of how people communicate and how they sell. The smart move is not to chase this week’s version of it. It is to position yourself for the whole arc.

A while back, on the night Uranus first crossed into Gemini, I gave a talk about astrology, came home still buzzing from it, and before I fell asleep something landed with total clarity. Write the book. Do the work. Say this out loud, publicly, to the people who need it.

That was Uranus doing exactly what Uranus does. Total clarity. A new direction, arriving as a sudden flash of radical insight.

The book came from that night. This newsletter comes from the same sky. The planet that lit the idea is the same planet now reinventing the written word. I did not plan the timing. I just know how to read it. And when the sky hands you the directive, you follow it.

What to actually do with this.

Stop asking only what you want to build. Start asking what the moment is built for.

Right now, for the next several years, the current is running toward owned communication and direct selling. If you have been sitting on a newsletter, a body of writing, a way of teaching what you know, this is not a neutral time to begin. The wind is at your back in a way it will not always be. Build the thing that lets people find you, hear you, and buy from you directly. That is what the sky is rewarding, and it will keep rewarding it for years.

A few things worth holding onto as you go.

Do not tie your whole future to one platform. Own your list, keep it portable, so that if any single channel changes the rules overnight, you walk away with your audience intact. Own the relationship, not the rented space.

Stay nimble. Test the new tool, the new format, the new way of reaching people before you are forced to. The ground moves for years, and the ones who keep experimenting move with it.

And protect what makes you you. Use every tool there is, but the moment your work could have come from anyone, you have handed away the only real advantage you had.

One more layer, and this is where it gets personal.

Everything I just described is the collective weather. It is happening to all of us at once. But Uranus is moving through one specific room of your chart right now, and which room it is changes everything about how this lands for you. For one person it falls on what they charge for their work. For another, how they cultivate meaning. For another, the message they are finally meant to say out loud. Same sky. Different priorities for each individual.
